Dave’s Pumpkin Patch 2012

We finally experienced some cooler weather around here and decided to go to a pumpkin patch today. We found a great deal for Dave’s Pumpkin Patch on Groupon and took advantage of it today. We explored the corn maze, took a hay ride, pony ride, had a picnic and the kids loved the corn box. Afterward we used up our buy one get one 1/2 off coupon at Jamba Juice. A great day with the family!

Pray for Colleen

I realize that some friends may not have Facebook, so I thought I’d add a post about Luke’s mom. If you think of her, please lift her in prayer.

A few weeks ago, Colleen fell and couldn’t walk. She was taken to the hospital and after tests were done, they found out that she has Lymphoma and the reason she could not walk was because she has two holes in her bone. The original idea is that she would be admitted into a care home that specializes in physical therapy to strengthen her leg so they could do surgery to add a rod to help her walk again. Well, after getting pneumonia, changing medications several times and then loosing feeling in her feet and legs has halted any progress. Thankfully today, Colleen was able to wiggle her toes and move her ankle. Thank you, Jesus! Just last week the doctors were talking about amputating or the possibility that she would be in a wheelchair for the rest of her life, so this is great news. Now we wait for second biopsy to find out the best treatment for the Lymphoma. Please pray for Colleen and Paul as they walk through this trial. Pray God would give them discernment to make wise choices and that through the struggle, Gods strength and love would help them persevere.

Father’s Day 2012

Father’s Day Menu
Breakfast – Blueberry Pancakes
Lunch – Bacon Cheeseburgers and fries
Dinner – Slow Cooked BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches
Dessert – Homemade Brownies

Yes, I know how to make my man happy. Food!!! Now I can’t say I did it all myself. Luke actually woke up early with the boys and made the delectable blueberry pancakes. He’s so good about that. One of the many reasons why he’s an awesome dad and husband.

I just love this photo. It reminds me that being a father (just like a mother) is not just a title, but filled with precious moments like this photo. A dad protecting and leading his children in love. This love doesn’t end at the end of a work day, but lives forever.

Memorial Weekend Fun

Memorial weekend was just how I pictured it would be. BBQ’s, nature walks, kids playing in the kiddie pools, working in the garden, going to the park, lounging in the backyard with my ice tea &/or pink lemonade in hand, getting a little sewing done. Yep! We had a wonderful weekend. I hope yours was just as sweet!

Sea World

A friend totally blessed us while in San Diego by adding us to her home school list to get into Sea World at a super low price. What a blessing! The kids and I had a fantastic time. I also found out that Benjamin has a fear of underground aquariums. He couldn’t leave the turtle exhibit fast enough. I don’t think it helped that it was like a cave and filled with people. Other than that, they were both fascinated by the animals, shows, kiddie area and fun atmosphere.
