Last night for Valentine’s Day I thought it would be fun for the family to customized our own pizzas. I didn’t know what I was in for and was pleasantly surprised at how easy and fun it was. The prep part took the most time, but once the ingredients were chopped we were ready to assemble. We made a pepperoni and ham pizza for Corbin and the rest of us had slices from the hawaiian, meat lovers, pepperoni and veggie as well as the tomato and olive pizzas. The smiles and “mmmmm” sounds made me think this idea was a success. Thank you Baked Bree for the inspiration. I loved the heart shaped pepperoni idea and did the same with the canadian bacon.
There is nothing sweeter than seeing the smile on my sons face. Today while Corbin was sleeping I decided to make heart shaped sugar cookies and decorated them with pink frosting and wrote fun valentine themed words and hearts with red colored chocolate (candy melts). When Corbin woke I told him there was a special treat in the kitchen. He instantly got a huge smile on his face and headed to the kitchen. I told him he could choose one and he picked the heart shaped cookie with love on it. He thanked me for making them and told me he loved me. Ah! Those are the precious moments I hope to always remember.
A few weeks back I met a gal that mentioned she had a friend make neck ties for her sons and a light bulb went off in my head. I could make neck ties too! How hard could they be? I did some research online and found a couple great sites that had instructions, combined both concepts and came up with my own neck tie. I have to say, I think it looks pretty darn sharp. The best part is that I reused an adult tie and reworked it for Corbin. I love it! I can’t wait to make a couple more. I know after a few I will get even better at it (and faster). Who knows…maybe I’ll be adding children’s neck ties to my Etsy site soon. Woohoo! I love this creative streak I’ve been on.
Today I had the pleasure of taking Leilani’s newborn photos. She’s a month old, weighs only about 8 pounds and is the most precious little baby girl. Enjoy!
Last week we went to the Wild Animal Park and met up with our friends, the Moreland clan. We had a fun time, but managed to see only a handful of animals and one was a squirrel. I find it humorous that we drove 45 minutes away to see birds, a squirrel and lots of fake animals at the kid fun zones. We could have done that in our own back yard. Ha! It was still fun and the kids loved running around and playing…that’s what really matters. I loved spending time with my family and seeing my friend Kendall. We always share funny stories and get some great laughs when we get together.
If you’re looking for a sweet way to love on your man, try making him a smoothie. They are refreshing, nutritious, smell amazing and are beautiful on the eyes. Am I talking about my man or smoothie? Ha! Seriously though…my man loves it when I blend him up something sweet and I’m sure yours will too. Remember, love is made up of all the small things.
Todays concoction was made from the Bella Kitchen blender my grandma gifted us a few weeks back. It is filled with strawberries, peaches, a little carrot puree, a touch of honey and a splash of Orange Mango Juice from Trader Joes. Yum!
I finally did it! I have been talking about putting my creations on Etsy forever it seems and I finally took the time to create an account and add all my nursing covers and owl pillows. I feel productive and accomplished. To top it off I sold a cover the very next day. Wow! How encouraging! The next step is to take better photos to show the angles and details on my nursing covers.
